Connecting Site Kit to Google Search Console

Now that you’ve installed Site Kit and are ready to connect it to Google Search Console, visit your Site Kit dashboard. If you haven’t yet installed Site Kit on your site, click here for instructions on how to do so.

Once there, click the “Search Console” tab at the top of your screen (if it’s not already open). This will take you straight into Google Search Console where all of our other settings are located—including connecting a new property with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. As we’re going through this tutorial now though we’re going to be focusing specifically on connecting Site Kit with Site Optimizer; so if by chance something doesn’t work correctly for some reason just reset everything back up again until everything works as intended!

Connecting Site Kit to Google Analytics

To connect Site Kit to Google Analytics, you will need to do the following:

  • Go to the Google Analytics plugin page.
  • Click on the Google Analytics icon. This will open your browser and take you directly to their installation page.
  • Enter your Google Analytics ID in the box that says “Enter tracking code”. You should see something like this: “UA-XXXXXX-1”. This is what we want! It’s important that this matches exactly because we don’t want any confusion or errors when trying out Site Kit later on (or at all). If there are any spaces between letters or numbers, try entering it again until everything looks correct; otherwise just make sure all numbers are integers—no zeros! And if there aren’t enough characters yet…well then just add some more until everything works as intended!
