10 Best Cornerbacks In Madden 24, Ranked

When it comes to Madden 24, the best cornerbacks are the ones who can quickly stop the attack.

As a defense, the most important thing to do is to stop the attacking playmakers, along with putting pressure on the quarterback. When it comes to stopping wide receivers at the line of scrimmage and breaking up passes that might be thrown in their area, cornerbacks are very important.

New rules have made it harder for defenses to challenge offensive players, which makes it even more important to have strong cornerbacks. We look at the best defensive backs in Madden 24 and how their skills help them stop other teams’ attacks.

Denzel Ward – 88

While most cornerbacks have to be quick to keep up with wide receivers, Denzel Ward really shines when it comes to speed. The star cornerback for the Cleveland Browns has the best speed (94), quickness (95), and agility (95) ratings of any cornerback in the league. This lets him stay close to almost any receiver in the league.

Besides being fast, Ward is a good defender all around who makes enough of an impact in both man (88) and zone defense (87). But the 26-year-old also wants to make a play himself. He wants to stop his opponent from getting the ball. Ward has 13 interceptions over the course of five seasons. Last season, he led the league with two fumble recovery scores.

Tre’Davious White – 90

After two years in the NFL, Tre’Davious White made a big impression in 2019 by leading the league with six interceptions and coming in fifth place in the vote for Defensive Player of the Year. After that season, he made the Pro Bowl again, but in 2021 and 2022, he’s been hurt a lot.

Cornerbacks aren’t given enough credit for their strength, but White is starting to change that. Because he is 75 strong, he can better defend against pass tries and not let his opponent beat him. White is a bit better in zone coverage (93) than in man coverage (91). He also does a good job of pressing the receiver at the line of scrimmage (93) and protecting in man coverage (91).

Marshon Lattimore – 90

“The Big Easy” is what people call New Orleans, but playing Marshon Lattimore is nothing like that. In his six-year run, the Saints’ defensive back has been picked four times for the Pro Bowl. Lattimore has been pretty healthy for most of his career (88), but he missed the 2022 season because he hurt his kidney.

One thing that sets Lattimore apart from other top cornerbacks is his ability to get in the way of wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. When he presses (96) a receiver the right way, he can throw them off their planned path. This can throw off the quarterback and give the defensive line more time to pressure them.

Stephon Gilmore – 91

All players will reach Father Time at some point, but Stephon Gilmore is doing everything he can to delay it. The 32-year-old is once again ranked as one of the best cornerbacks. Because he wants to become an important part of the Dallas Cowboys’ defense. Gilmore has played for a few different teams after long stays in Buffalo and New England.

After being out for half of the 2021 season, Gilmore came back in 2022 and played in all 16 games. The Dallas cornerback is one of the smartest players at his position (95). Which helps him see plays more clearly (91) and guess when passes will come in. Gilmore is a solid defender, but the experienced player will soon start to lose his form.

Darius Slay Jr. – 92

The City of Brotherly Love is home to the second-oldest defender shown. Slay Jr. was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2013. His big year came in 2017 when he led the league with eight interceptions. He has since been picked for the Pro Bowl five times in a row.

In 2020, Detroit moved Slay Jr. to the Philadelphia Eagles. That year, he had his worst season since 2017. But he bounced back with two straight Pro Bowl seasons that helped the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl. When it comes to Madden 24, Slay Jr. is the best at spotting plays (95) and being a zone defender (97).

Sauce Gardner – 93

Sauce Gardner is the person on the other end of the age range. As a newbie, the New York Jets cornerback proved to be one of the best at locking down the quarterback. This earned him the title of Defensive newbie of the Year. Gardner broke up two passes and had 20 pass deflections, which was the most in the league.

There is no doubt that Gardner will become the best cornerback in the NFL one day if he keeps going the way he is now. The 22-year-old already has the best ratings for man defense (97) and injury (94). Which means he doesn’t miss many games. The Gang Green defensive back could be one of the best gamers ever if he can get better at zone defense (92).

Marlon Humphrey – 93

No matter if it’s man coverage (94) or zone coverage (91), Humphrey has the energy (97) to give every play his all. At the line of scrimmage, he pushes (94) targets well, and Humphrey has the second-highest chase rate (77) and won’t give up when the other team’s offensive players are getting yards.

Patrick Surtain II – 94

Patrick Surtain II was chosen for the Pro Bowl and named to the First Team of AP All-Pro after his rookie year. He was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL and played in all 17 games for the Denver Broncos.

Man coverage (96) is where Surtain II really shines. But that doesn’t mean he can’t do well in zone coverage (93). The chase rating on him is 79, and the energy rating is 96, which is tied for second best. This means he doesn’t stop moves. Surtain II should stay one of the best cornerbacks in Madden 24 as long as he keeps going the way he is.

Jaire Alexander – 95

In 2022, Jaire Alexander caught a career-high five passes, making him a draw for the ball. He also blocked 14 passes and missed just one game all season, which earned Alexander his second Pro Bowl nod.

It is said that Alexander is the second-best cornerback overall. He is the smartest (97) and best at recognizing plays (95), beating out all other cornerbacks. He’s great at both man (96) and zone coverage (96). And he makes things very hard for targets at the line of scrimmage (94). On top of that, Alexander is a great return man (81) on special teams.

Jalen Ramsey – 97

At the moment, All-Pro Jalen Ramsey is the best cornerback in Madden 24. The Los Angeles Rams moved Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins because they needed players for the future. Even though Ramsey helped the Rams win the Super Bowl in 2021. Even though it cost a lot, the Dolphins got one of the best defensive players in the NFL, especially at CB.

While the ball is in play, he is the best player at man coverage (97) and pushing targets (99) at the line of scrimmage. Ramsey is the best cornerback at hitting (74) because he has a lot of power (82) for a cornerback. There’s no question that Ramsey is the best cornerback in Madden 24 when you look at his high catch rate (81) and number of interceptions.
